Police: Man killed near railroad tracks by Fletcher Avenue, suspect arrested

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — A man was killed Tuesday at railroad tracks near South Fletcher Avenue.

Police say 45-year-old Rolando Rene Garcia was found dead near the tracks in the 5100 block of the road.

Officers made an arrest in the shooting death of Garcia, according to the department. Through interviews and investigation, the suspect was identified as 35- year-old Jose Quintero.

On July 16, officers and the SWAT team located Quintero in the 400 block of E. Thoroughbred Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Quintero was booked into Pima County Jail on the Second-Degree Murder, Kidnapping, Abandoning a Dead Body, Theft of Means of Transportation and Prohibited Possessor.
