TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson police have arrested a man who is involved in a midtown homicide September 8.
Police say officers were called out to the area of Georgetown Apartments, 2510 N. Winstel Blvd. around 7:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying on the sidewalk near the north entrance of the apartment complex on East Fowler Street. The victim had obvious signs of gunshot trauma, he pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Angel Bueno. Next of kin was notified.
Detectives with the Tucson Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation, after speaking with witnesses, detectives learned there was an altercation in the parking lot involving Bueno and several other people, according to TPD. During the altercation, one individual pulled out a gun and shot Bueno.
Police say after follow-up interviews, and collected evidence, detectives were able to identify 28-year-old Jovon Maxwell White as a person of interest in the shooting. On Thursday, US Marshals located White in reference to a parole violation.
Investigators interviewed White, where he was charged with first-degree murder and prohibited possessor. He is currently being held in the Pima County Jail.
