TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona police are warning of a scam in which people are posing as student journalists to collect donations.
According to the department, the fraudsters have targeted Oro Valley and midtown areas, saying they are soliciting money for a UA journalism intenship with the BBC in London.
The UA says the con artists are not connected with the school, and the school is not raising funds to send students abroad.
Those who encounter the scam should call 911.
