Tucson police say a bank manager stopped an attempted armed robbery Tuesday morning.
According to Sgt. Pete Dugan, a gunman accosted the manager at the backdoor of a Wells Fargo near Craycroft and 22nd Street, demanding he let him inside and hand him money. The manager told the gunman that he needed another employee to assist him to access the money.
The manager then eluded the robber, told other employees at the bank to leave, then called 911. Police swept the bank and did not find the gunman.
Those with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME.
