Sierra Vista police arrested a man in connection with drug and weapons charges Wednesday.
Police say they arrested 42-year-old Antonio Gade while investigating a related murder-for-hire plot involving former Cochise County Sheriff's deputy Israel Burkholder. Detectives learned that Gade was associated with Burkholder, and while interviewing Gade learned that he gave a .45 caliber handgun to Burkholder.
Gade said he gave the gun to Burkholder because it was illegal for Gade to possess it. Detectives later served a narcotics search warrant at Gade's home in the 100 block of North 5th Street and found Oxycontin not belonging to Gade.
Gade was booked into Cochise County Jail and faces charges of possession of a narcotic drug and prohibited possessor of a firearm.
