UPDATE 1:19 p.m.

According to PCSD, the man is in stable condition.

UPDATE 11:24 a.m.

Pima County Sheriff's Department released more information on the officer-involved shooting that took place on West Linda Vista Boulevard.

According to the news release, deputies responded to reports of a male making suicidal threats at shortly before 2 p.m. on Aug. 11.

At that time, deputies learned that another occupant within the apartment was kept from leaving.

Upon arrival, deputies learned the 29-year-old man was armed with a gun and had made threats to kill himself and the occupant, the news release said.

Deputies coordinated to safely evacuate the occupant from the second-story apartment balcony, as well as residents in nearby apartment buildings.

Negotiators established communication with the subject and attempted to persuade him to surrender, the news release said.

At 5:18 p.m. the subject began firing rounds indiscriminately from the apartment and continued to do so for the next ten hours, the news release said.

During that time period, SWAT officers tried several different ways to persuade the man to surrender.

Shortly after midnight, the man exited and again started to fire rounds. Members of the Pima Regional SWAT team returned fire, hitting the man.

The man was secured and transported to a local hospital for care. There is no update on his condition, the news release said. No one else was injured.

Criminal charges will be forthcoming, the news release said.

UPDATE 5:00 A.M.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says an hours-long standoff with a barricaded person has led to an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex.

Deputies have not said if anyone was hurt, but they have said no one has been killed.

PCSD said this started as a domestic-violence related situation. Deputies evacuated parts of the complex on Monday, but by Tuesday morning they started escorting people in and out as needed.

There has been a multi-agency response. Tucson police are now taking over the investigating into the shooting.

KGUN 9 News reporter Andrew Christiansen talked with one person who lives there who said she was evacuated around 3:30 Monday afternoon. Some of the areas of the complex, she said, were blocked off to people living there. She also said she saw heavily armed deputies walking by her apartment unit. Someone else Christiansen talked to said her husband was not evacuated.
