ORO VALLEY, Ariz. — The roundabout under construction in Oro Valley won't happen this week, town officials say.
The project at the intersection of Moore Road and La Cañada Drive has been under construction since September and was set to open Friday. A news release from the town of Oro Valley Tuesday afternoon said they're pushing it back to Wednesday, just before Thanksgiving.
The news release says construction crews have to wait until the roadway dries to paint the stripes at the intersection. Based on forecasts for rain through Tuesday and Wednesday, the contractor estimates they won't be able to do that until Monday or Tuesday. They also have to clean up the construction site before opening the new intersection.
