Oro Valley movie pirates get probation

Two Oro Valley men received three years of probation after being convicted of movie piracy.

Oscar Rojelio Torres Jr., 26, and Rojelio Cota Torres Sr., 53, were accused of illegally downloading more than 700 movies and selling more than 500 DVDs. 

In February 2016, they were indicted on charges of trafficking stolen property, conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise, unlawful copying or sale of sounds or images from recording devices and counterfeit marks.

Both men pleaded guilty and must pay $8,892 to the Motion Picture Association of America. If other victims request restitution, the men will have to pay as much as $20,000 more.
