TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - That's not a UFO in the skies over Tucson.  We've identified it as the second launch from Tucson of Worldview's Stratollite system.

The company launched the balloon system at 9:45 this morning.  It's flying a government payload.  Worldview can't share details beyond that.

Unlike a normal balloon that goes just where the wind takes it, Stratollites can stay in a controlled area.  Because the wind blows different directions at different altitudes the Stratollite varies its altitude to fly in winds that push it one way, then another to keep the balloon and payload in the area the mission requires.

Worldview has a launch pad and headquarters building just south of Tucson International Airport.
