Nine Odyssey of the Mind teams from the Amphi School District are heading to the World Finals next week in Michigan.
According to Director of Community Relations Amy Sharpe, Odyssey of the Mind is an international education program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. The competition emphasizes teamwork and creativity to solve problems on a variety of subjects and topics that range from mechanical issues to interpreting literary classics.
The teams are from seven schools, including Donaldson Elementary, Mesa Verde Elementary, Painted Sky Elementary, Coronado K-8 School, Cross Middle School (2 teams), Canyon del Oro High School (2 teams), and Ironwood Ridge High School will compete against more than 800 teams around the world.
The 38th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals is scheduled for May 24-27, 2017.
