NOGALES, Ariz. -- A murdered Nogales Police Officer was awarded the "Officer of the Year" Award.

The award for Officer Jesus "Chuy" Cordova was received by his wife and family. The Nogales Police Department posted about the award today on Twitter.

The suspect accused of killing Officer Cordova is David Ernesto Murillo. On February 14th, 2019, the prosecution in the case decided they will seek the death penalty against Murillo.
