Mt. Lemmon's last snow for the season?

MT. LEMMON, Ariz (KGUN9-TV) - Just when it seemed as if Spring was settling in it turned cold enough to snow on Mount Lemmon.

It wasn't exactly a thick coat of snow but it might be the last send-off of winter.

Not long ago it was shirt sleeves and shorts in the valley and you could even get by with shirt sleeves up here but look what happened overnight---about an inch of snow, maybe even a little more than that.">

And if you were determined to do some sledding you might be able to get in a few rides.

Victor Gastelum was sledding with his brother Andres.  He says, “If you're planning on coming now would probably be the best time before it melts all away."

For really young kids, there's nothing quite like stepping out, or maybe falling down,  into a world transformed into something strange, white and wet.

Just about everyone we met feels this will be their last chance to see snow here until next season.

Margaret Scofield was playing in the snow with her toddler Koa and her baby Ethan

"It's been pretty warm the last few days, the last few weeks even so we figured we might as well take advantage because you just never know living in the desert.  This could be it."

And any snow will seem impressive if you're visiting from Australia like Sarah Norton and Simon Hollingsworth.

She says, "We've been very impressed with the amount of snow up here and the kids have really enjoyed making snowmen and stuff, so, yeah, it's good.”

He says, “And our daughter's first experience with snow, never seen it before.  Brilliant."
