U.S. Marshals arrested a homicide suspect connected to an Oct. 12 murder.
On Oct. 12, police responded to reports of shots fired at IronHorse Park, 75 N. First Ave. Nicholas Encalade, 53, was found injured by gunshots and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police identified 18-year-old Joseph Anthony Santos as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant on charges of homicide, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery.
Santos fled to the Tohono O'odham Nation, where he tried to avoid arrest. Marshals tracked him down Tuesday after he was arrested on an unrelated tribal warrant.
He was booked into Pima County Jail.
