TUCSON, Ariz. - A Marana High School student received a perfect score on the ACT exam.
Jude Lykins scored a perfect 36 on the entrance exam. The average score is 21.
The ACT includes tests in math, English, science, reading and writing. It takes four hours to complete.
Lykines said he was nervous heading into the test but felt confident afterward. He thought he got a 34, but was pleasantly surprised to see his perfect score.
"I just started jumping up and down, celebrating," he said. "It was really fun."
Lykins is on the swim team, orchestra, National Honor Society and Math Society.
He says he plans to study microbiology.
