Pima County Sheriff's deputies say a 47-year-old man died Monday night in a single-car rollover in Vail.
Deputies say James Edward Cook died near Mokes Mile Trail and Sharon Road after the silver minivan he was driving crashed on its side. A passenger was transported to Banner University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Cook was driving south on Sharon Road and trying to turn onto Mokes Mile Trail but was going too fast, tipping over the van and ejecting both him and the passenger. Neither Cook nor his passenger were wearing seatbelts.
