With several local businesses backing the effort, Phillips and his wife are volunteering their time and money to help families affected by the flooding, Carlos Herrera reports.
Dubbing the movement "Together We Can Rebuild Texas," Phillips is gathering supplies including bottled water, sports drinks and cleaning products. The goal is to fill a 26-foot truck.
Donations are being collected at JT Auto, 550 E. Fort Lowell.
Once in Texas, Phillips will help rebuild homes.
