Man avoids jail time for secretly taking photos of woman at Goodwill store

Mr. Atha received 3 years probation on the Sex Offender Caseload w/ special conditions; however, the Court retained jurisdiction on the issue of whether he will be required to register as a Sex Offender contingent on his compliance on probation.

The Pima County Sheriffs Department have arrested a man they believe was taking secret photos of a woman at the Ina Road Goodwill Store.

In November, PCSD asked for the publics help to find the man. According to the department, the incident happened at 1 p.m. Sept. 23 at the store at 2990 W. Ina Road. Deputies confronted the man who was trying to take pictures of a woman who was shopping at the store. He ran out of the store and was not seen again.

Several tips led detectives to Frank Atha, 34. Frank was arrested for surreptitious videotaping and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex.

Detectives from the Adult Sex Crimes Unit served a search warrant on his home and found evidence which shows other possible female victims.
