Cochise County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Thursday on suspicion of homicide in a deadly shooting near Sierra Vista.
Deputies say the incident happened in the 4000 block of Sagebrush, south of town.
Deputies arrested 48-year-old Roger Wilson, who allegedly admitted to shooting 33-year-old Jose Arvizu to death.
Arvizu died of a gunshot to the upper body. Wilson told deputies he was coming back to his car when he saw Arvizu near the gate. Wilson said he was worried Arvizu would assault him, so he pulled a shotgun out of his truck and killed Arvizu.
Wilson faces second degree murder and prohibited possessor of firearms charges and was booked into Cochise County Jail.
