Organizers of the Jan. 8 memorial are seeking donations.
The Jan. 8th Memorial Foundation started a donation drive Tuesday. The organization is looking to raise $50,000 in donations, which will trigger a match from an anonymous donor. The foundation needs $4 million dollars to complete the project, and could break ground on it later this year.
