Tucson police are asking the public for any information stemming from a traffic accident that left a man with serious injuries.

TPD says after 2:30 a.m. officers responded to the 1400 block of East Limberlost in reference to a 9-1-1 call about a man that had possibly fallen out of a vehicle.

As officers arrived, they learned that paramedics located an adult man lying in the road with obvious trauma.

Paramedics transported the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives then responded to the scene to investigate and learned that the victim had been out that evening with another friend.

Both men received a ride home in a red pickup truck from two other men they had met that evening.

Police say three of the men were riding in the cab of the truck and the victim was riding in the bed of the truck.

As the truck was going westbound on Limberlost Drive from North Campbell Avenue the occupants in the cab had noticed that the victim was no longer in the bed of the truck.

The men then turned the truck around and located the victim in the road.

When the victim's friend got out of the truck to check on him, the other two men left the area in the truck.

Police say the victim sustained head trauma and it appears that he was run over by a vehicle.

Detectives are asking anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the incident to call 88-CRIME.
