TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Here are the best recent home video releases:

The Jungle Book

A stunning combination of visuals, musical voice performances and compelling emotion, director Jon Favreau's knockout Rudyard Kipling adaptation stands easily as the definitive version of the tale. Neel Sethi is an excellent find as Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves who makes friends and enemies of creatures in the Indian jungle. Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johansson also provide excellent voice work. For my full review of the movie, click here. Extras in the Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo include a look at King Louie's layer, a featurette on reinventing the source material, Sethi's performance and the voice cast's impressions of the final product.

Me Before You

So commanding as Daenerys in "Game of Thrones," Emilia Clarke has struggled to establish as compelling of a persona on film. Her latest attempt is a maudlin romance in which she stars as a caregiver to an ornery banking mogul (Sam Claflin) who has all but given up on life and romance. The slow, predictable writing undermines any chemistry Clarke and Claflin are able to muster. Extras in the Blu-ray/digital copy combo include deleted scenes, outtakes and a look at translating the film from the source novel to the screen.

Shameless: Season 6

The brilliant Showtime drama, starring Emmy Rossum as the lynchpin of an impoverished inner-city Chicago family barely holding it together, continues to bring the laughs and the pathos. William H. Macy steals just about every one of his scene's as the ne'er do well would-be patriarch who pops in now and again to cause havoc. Extras in the Blu-ray/digital copy combo include deleted scenes and a pair of background featurettes.

Studios provided screeners for review.
