TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Here are the best recent home video releases:

The Angry Birds Movie

The destruction-based mobile game is now well past its prime, but the animated movie on which it's based is still a blast. An all-star voice cast of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph and Sean Penn deliver a whip-smart script with aplomb, delivering laughs for kids and adults alike. The Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo includes a trio of shorts, deleted scenes, featurettes on the characters and Blake Shelton's music video of the theme "Friends."

Gotham: Season 2

Focusing on the villains who are destined to make up Batman's rogues gallery, the sophomore effort ot Fox's stylish drama dives deeper into the periphery of the Dark Knight's mythos. The ensemble cast of Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, David Mazouz and Morena Baccarin helps ground the out-there material, fostering an obsessive fan following. The Blu-ray/digital copy combo is filled out with featurettes, including one on the origin of Mr. Freeze, a look at the series' film noir influences, and the 2015 Comic-Con panel.

Power Rangers Megaforce and Super Megaforce

Available individually, two sets of Power Rangers assemble to take down evil forces. Bursting with nostalgic flourishes for adults who enjoyed the characters during their 1990s prime, the modern takes on the material up the production values considerably, with everything from visuals to writing and acting benefitting from major upgrades over the originals. Both DVD sets include digital copies.

Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made

A heartfelt look at the efforts of several friends' quixotic efforts to construct a scene-for-scene remake "Raiders of the Lost Ark" using whatever items they can scrounge up as props and special effects, the documentary is a tribute for pure film fandom and childhood whimsy. The Blu-ray includes commentary, a digital copy and photo booklet, as well as Q&A footage from the film's 2003 screening.
