A man who admitted to setting fire to the Gospel Rescue Mission in June will serve 30 days in jail and three years probation as part of a plea deal.

A Pima County Superior Court judge sentenced Clair Franklin Pierce Friday, on a reduced charge of criminal damage. Pierce was originally charged with arson.

When he was arrested in June, Pierce admitted to setting the building at 312 W. 28th Street on fire.
