CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Casa Grande police say a 14-year-old girl was shot in an accident at the city's public shooting range.

Police say the girl was shot Saturday at the range, 2766 Suuth Isom Road. The girl is being treated at a Phoenix-area hospital and is expected to recover.

Howard Reno, 50, was trying to holster his 9mm handgun at a range table and accidentally shot the girl, who was 20 feet away. The bullet went through her torso and exited her back. Reno is a family friend, and the girl's family was at the scene.

The Pinal County Attorney's Office will review the case.
