TUCSON, Ariz. - An Arizona Game and Fish Department program is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of someone accused of poaching two javelina.

The department's Operation Game Thief says the incident happened near Feb. 23 in the Santa Catalina Mountains in a wash near the Baby Jesus Trail.

"Poachers are criminals. They are thieves who steal wildlife from Arizona citizens,” said Regional Supervisor Raul Vega of Game and Fish in Tucson, in a statement. “No true sportsman would leave game in the field to waste. We urge anyone who saw or heard something to contact us.”

Those with information should call 800-352-0700 and reference OGT #19-000331.
