Tucson police say four people were detained in an incident Wednesday that started on the southside and stretched into Marana.
According to Sgt. Kimberly Bay, police tried to stop a vehicle that was using a fake license plate on the southside.
The car wouldn't yield, and moved on to the westside, where police stopped the vehicle and detained the driver. A passenger hopped into the driver's seat and took off with two other passengers in the vehicle.
Police notified Pima County Sheriff's deputies, who found and stopped the car in Marana. The driver and both passengers left the car, then ran off into the desert, where deputies detained them.
Bay said officers did not pursue the vehicle.
