A former Douglas police sergeant was sentenced to five years in prison for transporting 224 pounds of marijuana from Douglas to Tucson.

According to state Attorney General Mark Brnovich, Theodore Kulkens was arrested after deputies found 224 pounds of marijuana in the back of his SUV in December.

Kulkens pleaded guilty to transportation of marijuana for sale, a crime that violated the terms of his probation for a previous crime.
