Firefighters battled a westside house fire Wednesday.
According to Tucson Fire Capt. Barrett Baker, the blaze was in the 1800 block of West Oakway Drive, in Midvale Park.
Two residents in their 70s, who were not home at the time of the fire, were displaced by the blaze. Many 911 calls came in from neighbors who feared the couple was still inside.
When fire fighters arrived on scene they encountered heavy fire in the back bedroom and noticed that the fire had spread to the attic.
The homeowners arrived on scene during firefighter operations and worked with them on getting assistance from the Red Cross.
The fire was controlled 27 minutes after crews arrived on scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
