Firefighters gain foothold on Lizard Fire

Firefighters continue to manage the lightning-caused Lizard Fire near Dragoon, which has grown to 15,214 acres as of Wednesday morning. The lightning-caused blaze started June 7.

Helicopters will continue to drop water on hot spots.

Evacuation orders remain in place. Threatened structures include the Baptist Church Camp.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management is assisting with the Coronado National Forest blaze.

Five hotshot teams and 25 engines are responding. In total, 365 firefighters are at the scene. The fire is at 80 percent containment.
