TUCSON, Ariz. — A new development in the case of a Tucson toddler starved to death, and put in a toy box.
The father 50-year-old Martin Barreras pleaded guilty to lesser counts of child abuse Tuesday morning.
He is still on trial for the first-degree murder of his 3-year-old son Roman.
Barreras is also facing child abuse resulting in death, and abandoning the body.
The mother Raquel Barreras is serving life without parole.
