The mother and mother charged with killing their 3-year-old child in 2014 have been assigned a trial date in connection with his death.
The trial for Martin and Raquel Barreras is scheduled for April 24, 2018.
In March of 2014, the skeletal remains of their son Roman were uncovered at a south side home.
According to his autopsy, Roman's cause of death was due to starvation and neglect.
Coroners found white tape and red shoe string around Roman's legs when his remains were found stuffed in a toy chest.
His parents were arrested on charges of murder, child abuse and concealment of a dead body.
