Firefighters put out a blaze on the southside late Tuesday night.
A family of six was displaced by the blaze, which started in the laundry room in the home in the 1300 block of South Rosemont. Smoke alarms woke up the family members, who escaped the home unharmed.
Ten units with 25 firefighters responded to the scene and had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
The Rec Cross will assist the family.
