A man who was convicted of killing a woman who was sitting on a park bench in a DUI wreck was sentenced Monday to serve 12 years.
In October 2015, police say Patterson hit and killed 22-year-old Rio "Amber Rose" Blackwell while heading eastbound on Pima Street heading toward Wilmot.
Patterson was convicted on counts of manslaughter, endangerment, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene after causing an accident resulting in death or serious physical injury, DUI and extreme DUI.
