Tucson Police have identified the pedestrian involved in Friday night's fatal collision.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan with TPD, 53-year-old James Leroy Parker was struck by a red 1992 Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

Police arrived on the scene at 8:10 p.m. and located Parker in the roadway. Tucson Fire transported him to Banner UMC where he later passed away from his injuries.

Detectives were able to determine that Parker was in the roadway of westbound Drexel Rd when he was hit. It is unclear why he was in the roadway and he was not in a crosswalk.

Speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision and the driver did not show signs of impairment.

No arrests or citations are pending.
