A barking dog woke up a family of four on the southside, enabling them to escape a mobile home fire.

According to Tucson Fire Capt. Barrett Baker, nine units, consisting of 23 firefighters, were on scene in the 5200 block of South Campbell -- inside Desert Classic RV Park -- at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday. They had the fire under control ast 1:14 a.m.

Tucson police first spotted the fire via its air unit. A neighbor heard the dog barking, and she opened her front door to see the carport engulfed in flames. She woke up the family and helped them escape the home. A propane exploded, but did not injure anyone.

The Red Cross is assisting the victims: A man in his 70s, a 40-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
