Detectives arrest two suspects involved in two separate shooting incidents

TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened on November 20.

Police officers responded to reports of a shooting around 5:20 a.m. near the area of 1600 North Wilmot Road.

Upon arrival officers found a man lying the parking lot of the Las Colinas apartment complex with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Police say officers attempted to render aid until Tucson Fire Department arrived.

The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to TPD.

Detectives with the Tucson Police Violent Crimes Unit continued the investigation.

Detectives later identified the victim as 17 year-old David Ruggiero.

Ruggiero was missing according to multiple Facebook messages from friends and family to KGUN9.

Through further investigation detectives were able to identify the two suspects involved in the death of Ruggiero.

Detectives identified one suspect as 17-year-old Jonathan O. Gallardo.

The other suspect was identified as 22-year-old Jose Manuel Aguirre.

Police say both Gallardo and Aguirre were involved in a separate shooting after the homicide.

The second shooting happened in the parking lot at of an Eegee's at 2470 North Campbell Avenue around 7:15 p.m., according to TPD.

The shooting happened during an altercation in the parking lot, police say.

Upon arrival officers found a male victim who sustained gunshot wounds, the man was taken to Banner University Medical Center.

Police say the male victim's updated injuries are no non-life threatening.

On December 6, Jose Manuel Aguirre was found and arrested.

On December16, detectives found Jonathan Gallardo who was arrested.

Aguirre and Gallardo are both being held in Pima County Jail.

The two suspects have been charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, and weapons offenses.
