TUCSON, Ariz. — Over 60 neglected animals were removed from a Tucson home Thursday.

According to PCSD, when deputies arrived they found 66 animals that included dogs, chickens and birds who were living in poor conditions.

PCSD says further investigation revealed that 24 rabbits and chicken in the home were deceased.

"Due to health concerns, one of the homeowners was transported to a local area hospital. The investigation continues and we will provide further updates as they become available," PCSD said.

Pima Animal Care Center responded to the scene and rescued several animals.
