Pima County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested 35-year-old James R. Lapan Jr. in connection with a homicide on the northwest side that happened Monday.
Lapan, 35, was apprehended during a traffic stop on Pinal Air Park Road just west of I-10 on Friday morning at around 4:25.
He is charged with 1st degree murder and was booked into the Pima County Jail.
Deputies have identified the deceased man as 45-year-old Nicolas Morelos.
According to Deputy Courtney Rodriguez with PCSD, Morelos was found inside his home with obvious signs of trauma.
A call came in around 9 Monday morning from the Morelos' girlfriend. She came over to his house because she hadn't heard from him that morning like she normally does.
The investigation is still ongoing.
