Santa Cruz Sheriff's deputies broke up a Rio Rico cockfighting operation Tuesday night.
According to Sheriff Tony Estrada, authorities seized 75 chickens from the home. Detectives are investigating the scene as an illegal cockfighting operation.
An off-duty deputy discovered the home after spotting a man dumping two dogs on the side of the road. The man then admitted to owning cockfighting roosters.
Deputies arrested a 61-year-old suspect in connection with the scene.
