SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Pinal County Sheriff's deputies arrested an 18-year-old man who is suspected of being responsible for a crime spree in San Tan Valley.
Deputies say the Rojelio Armenta admitted to 25 car thefts, an armed robbery, multiple burglaries and credit card fraud. He is also accused of fleeing law enforcement officers.
On Monday, a deputy was patrolling near Bella Vista Road and Hunt Highway and saw a white Chevrolet sedan reported as stolen pass him. The deputy tried to stop the car, but Armenta sped up and got away. A second deputy caught up to the sedan moments later.
Deputies spotted Armenta running through yards and jumping walls in the 31000 block of N. Candlewood Road. They arrested him at Hunt Highway and Paso Fino Trail. Armenta was booked into the Pinal County Jail on six counts of vehicle theft, armed robbery, three counts of burglary, two counts of credit card fraud, endangerment, felony flight, possession of narcotics and promoting prison contraband.
