A large decorative light pole caused traffic restrictions on Kino Parkway north of 22nd Street Thursday.

Andy Squire with Tucson Department of Transportation confirms an art installation was blown down due to strong winds in the area.

TDOT arrived within 15 minutes of the incident.

Power was the biggest concern due to safety. Squire says, it was shut off.

Squire says, the sculpture was welded in place and snapped.

It was the tallest of the six sculptures on the Kino Parkway overpass.

The bridge itself is safe but T-DOT is evaluating the safety of the other sculptures.

According to T-DOT, the roadway is now clear and back open.

Officer Hawkins with TPD says the light pole has electrical wires inside that is causing safety concerns.
