TUCSON, Ariz. -- A microburst swept through Tucson, leaving significant damage behind. Downed power-lines, toppled trees, and homes that were destroyed.

Ray Owens, who is in Tucson visiting friends, told KGUN9 that she could not believe this was happening.

“It was awful. It was terrifying. I was actually doing some work and all of a sudden the house is shaking. Everything is shaking. The dogs were barking,” Owens exclaimed.

Then, suddenly, the sounds of thunder weren't the only ones causing a ruckus.

“There were things crashing, trees were coming down, being uprooted. There were telephone poles being uprooted,” OWens added.

The storm evidently left damage throughout the city of Tucson. From trampolines plowing into homes, saguaros being uprooted and toppling over into fences -- this microburst left a lot to be cleaned up.

Sandra Williams told KGUN9, she heard extremely loud noises and was terrified with what she saw when she walked outside.

“We found the top of the carport back in the alley behind the house. It was loud. It was really loud. Maybe a little bit of hail and hard rain hitting the windows, and then just the wind. The noise of it was just horrendous,” William said.

Nancy Garnett was also among those who were shocked by what they saw and what they heard.

“I actually heard a lot of wind blowing. It startled both my dogs. They were shocked by the rain and everything. Rain was coming into the dog doors,” Garnett told KGUN9.

This powerful storm left significant damage behind and though clean-up efforts are on the way, there is still a lot to be done to get things back to normal.
