The Frye Fire seven miles southwest of Safford has mushroomed to 961 acres at 16 percent containment.
According to the Coronado National Forest Service, the lightning-caused fire began on June 7. There are currently 10 firefighters assigned, with 11 engines, six crews, three helicopters, two dozers and miscellaneous overhead support. In all, 234 firefighters are at the scene.
