'Crashing' lands on home video

Posted

Here are this week's hottest home video releases:

Crashing: Season 1

Pete Holmes stars in a semi-autobiographical HBO comedy series about his struggles to make it in stand-up comedy in New York City. A bevy of high-caliber guest stars pops in, including T.J. Miller, Artie Lange and Sarah Silverman, keeping the awkward laughs rolling in. Extras include spotlights on the guests, outtakes from the stand-up segments and interviews with Holmes and executive producer Judd Apatow.

Going in Style

Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Michael Caine team up for a downbeat comedy about a trio of retirees who form a bank robbery gang in order to make ends meet during retirement. There was potential here for a profound rumination on the angst and financial plight of retirees, but a weak script squanders that and the tremendous acting talent onboard.
