TUCSON, Ariz. - The Tucson area will soon have three Raising Cane's locations.

According to Pima County officials, the company has been approved for a construction permit at Oracle and Limberlost. The company has yet to announce an opening date.

"The Raising Cane's operation has submitted plans to the department and has received an initial approval to construct," County Consumer Health & Food Safety Program Manager David Ludwig said via email. "They will need to call the department for a final approval ensuring that all health code requirements are met."

The news comes on the same day the company formally announced its second location, a 3,760 square foot restaurant at 2604 E. Speedway. It's the former home of Speedway Self Serve gas station.

The second restaurant, which carries the "one love" slogan," is slated to open in the summer and will hire 75 crew members.

“We love Tucson, so we couldn’t be more excited to bring local Caniacs a second Raising Cane’s restaurant to get their chicken finger fix,” said Raising Cane's Regional Leader Jason Zwerin, in a statement announcing the Speedway location. “We have found the perfect location close to the University of Arizona, so our next step will be to assemble the perfect crew. Along with sharing our 'one love' with everyone in the area, our team will be dedicated to getting more involved with schools and organizations throughout the community.”

Raising Cane's opened its first Tucson location in November 2015 at 6352 E. Broadway.

The Baton Rouge, La.-based restaurant chain specializes in chicken fingers. There are 15 locations in the Phoenix area. Once the two new locations open, Tucson will have three Raising Cane's.
