BENSON, Ariz. - A search for child pornography led to Federal Agents trading shots with a suspect in Benson Wednesday morning.

Shortly after Eight AM agents from Homeland Security Investigations came to an RV park on Ocotillo just south of 4th Avenue, the busiest street in Benson.

They had a warrant to search for child pornography—-part of HSI efforts to fight child exploitation.

They found bullets headed their way. Lianna Contreras was headed to her office at Farmers Insurance, maybe a half block away when she heard the shots.

“One right after another and then there was maybe a short pause and then I heard a few more. It happened really really quick so I didn’t know if the shots were coming from one shooter. It was several shots.”

She worried about an active shooter in the neighborhood so went in her office and locked the door.

We’re told the suspect was firing out of his residence with a handgun. An agent return fire with a rifle.

Agents were not hurt. Gunfire did not hurt the suspect. Flying glass from the incident did.
