In separate incidents, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested two men who allegedly tried to smuggle marijuana across the border in Douglas.
On Oct. 14, officers say they arrested a 29-year-old Douglas man after finding 290 pounds of pot in his Isuzu SUV. On Oct. 16, officers arrested a 36-year-old man after finding 157 pounds of marijuana in his Ford pickup.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicles, and turned both subjects over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
