Casino del Sol donates $60,000 to charities

Two childrens' charities benefit

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Casino Del Sol and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe just donated a total of 60 thousand dollars to help children.
 
Casino Del Sol's charity golf tournament helped the Casino and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe donated 30 thousand dollars to the Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center.  It helps children who have been victims of child abuse.
 
The casino also donated 30 thousand dollars to mygirlpower.org, a charity that helps girls develop their leadership skills.
 
Casino CEO Kim Van Amburg says it's a great feeling to be able to help.
 
"These organizations are just incredible and to be able to make a difference.  I think you heard Lisa Power from Girl Power talking about how that's gonna enable them to fund 10 girls to go to New York and DC and provide some other services to the organization. The Children's Advocacy Center is going to be able to hire someone to do that intake that they can't do now. It's really incredible. 2:52 runs: 24
 
The Casino says the fundraising golf tournament is developing so much momentum they hope to be able to be even more generous next year.
