A man died after he was struck by a car in Oro Valley Wednesday morning.
Lt. Kara Riley, spokesperson with the Oro Valley Police Department, says that on April 27, a pedestrian was walking southbound on the sidewalk on First Ave approaching Palisades when he was struck by a vehicle.
The investigation has revealed that the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound on First Ave when he lost control of his vehicle, swerving across the median and the northbound lanes of traffic striking the pedestrian prior to crashing into the desert.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, but his name is not being released since next of kin has not been contacted, said Riley.
The driver was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the collision, said Riley.
