Border Patrol arrests drive-by killing convict

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican man who had been previously convicted of drive-by shooting in 2001.

According to the agency, Sergio Coronado-Mata was convicted of manslaughter for a 2001 crime in which he killed one person and injured two others near Swan and 29th. He is now charged with felony reentry after deportation by an aggravated felon.

Agents discovered his conviction after stopping him at the border and conducting biometric records checks.
